For our last great meal in Spain, we had dinner at Botin. We ate roast suckling pig, and this time we split two orders between the four of us.
The wine was a 2003 Pesquera from Ribera del Duero. As mentioned earlier, the wines were uniformly good.
I never spent more than 35 euros on a bottle, and I tried to drink "local" wines. I stayed away from wines that we commonly see in the states. We tended to prefer the Riojas over the wines from Ribera del Duero. In general, the Riojas had a bit of oak aging, and the other wines had none.
