Remote Desktop - Local Security Authority cannot be contacted

 A recent Windows update messed up Remote Desktop connections for me. I did find a solution that worked for me.

On the affected machine, I went into System properties, then the Remote tab.
I changed to “Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)"

instead of “Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (more secure)”
